Understanding and depicting the poetic visual language of nature and it’s cycles of life and ethics through observation of a kingfisher bird. The movements and transitions would bring to life the glory of Oliver’s thoughtful, slow story telling of a dewy morning, woodsy quietness, and liveliness of a bird’s morning ritual. The goal was to to create an animation that visualizes the theme of the story through movement with designed geometric shapes, pattern, colors and other visual components
This motion graphic was inspired by Mary Oliver's poem The Kingfisher. All audio and designs were produced by Mel Petzoldt.
